Super proud of this one. For my illustration class, we were asked by the president of the school to design a Holiday Card that would go out to CCSU Staff, Students, and Alumni. And after a few vigorous rounds of deliberation, they chose my design to go to print. It was a tremendous honor and a whole heck of a lot of fun.
As for the design, I wanted to convey a sense of warmth and joy, so I included winter items that brought that to me as a kid. I loved Ice Skating, warm cups of cocoa, and of course- candy and gifts!
This image was designed in Adobe Illustrator. I used my Wacom Intuos Pro to draw all the icons by hand. I absolutely love that thing. It's completely changed the way that I design! As for the color scheme, I went with a pale blue monochrome color pallet. This was to represent CCSU's school colors and represent the muted colors of early winter. Overall, this experience was so much fun and a great practical design experience. They also filmed the entire process- you can check it out in the video below.
